Consistency aka Things to Work on in 2025

So you write a book, self publish and then the real work needs to be done; promotion. But how? Where? When? These are questions I’m constantly asking myself as I scroll through countless videos, pay for yet another package or course but the main theme that keeps coming up is Consistency.

I was thinking about that today. Thinking about how that persistent consistency applies to so much more than just one project. Can’t we apply this to LIFE?

You want a new job? Be consistent with searches, with updating skills and certifications.

You want a new relationship? Be consistent in being the best version of yourself and opening yourself to the possibility of a relationship.

I believe the reason for the consistency is the momentum that occurs when you continue to push forward, regardless of which outcome you are interested in. You can’t stop and binge Netflix. I mean yes, there should be some self care in there and it doesn’t mean you have to do something EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. But I do think it means you have to set the goal and be accountable for it.

Which is why I never set a goal for posting here. Sure, I have amazing and intriguing conversations in my head but the act of actually verbalizing and then typing them out is sometimes too hard on days. Therefore, I will post when I can and try to make it more often but I will leave my consistent goal as unset until some more desirable future and focus on the projects at hand.

How about you? Have you set any goals and do you have consistency issues or advice for us slackers?

Merry Christmas

It’s been quite the year, ups and downs but I feel mostly ups. I decided it was time to either follow through with my writing or thrown in the towel. I’m happy to say that the towel is still in my hand…or hanging on the towel holder? I’m not sure how I can write and hold a towel but point is I’m not giving up!

So my debut novel Amuse (revised from it’s original format circa 2015) is available in ebook at a discounted price of FREE or .99 cents on most platforms. To find it you will need to search using Amuse by Karma Marie.

I’m currently on a short pause from writing the sequel Amuse II, in order to enjoy the holiday with my family and prevent writer burnout. It will be released in 2025 – I’ll keep everyone posted.

Anyways, hope you an yours have a very festive and loving holiday!

The Results Are In:

Recently learned I apparently am suffering from a condition called “Soloitis” otherwise known as ‘Being Single’.

It’s not a rare disease, affecting approximately 46.4% of Americans over the age of 18.

Thankfully, it’s not Soloitis with complications – loneliness, depression, fear of rejection, ROCD, societal pressure and anxiety.

I didn’t catch it from anyone, it’s self inflicted, which means you can’t catch it from me either. So friendly hugs are okay.

I wasn’t aware it was an issue, I mean it doesn’t impact my daily activities like work or chores around the house and I feel like it actually helps with my writing, however, it has been brought to my attention, more than once, so I did some research.

Some benefits of Soloitis:

More time to myself, ability to focus, doing only what I want, only worrying about MY feelings and interests, freedom from being ‘tied down’, not having to check in with someone, not having to share space, not being infected with someone else’s negative energy, etc… Overall, just all around joy and happiness! 🥰

So, even though I’m afflicted, I will not suffer. I will go forth into the world with courage and optimism. 🥹 Despite what all those 90’s rom coms said!

Just wanted to share in case anyone else had the same condition, you are not alone! I mean, you’re still ALONE, just not alone in the having it.😏

Looking for a NOT ‘you complete me because I’m only half a person without you’ movie to watch. Check out Last Christmas with the dragon lady herself – Emilia Clarke 🥰 – who coincidentally is rumored to be single at the moment too!

Merry Christmas!
