The Multiverse theory is more than a Marvel movie plot. It’s a concept that has been considered and believed by everyone from scientists to ‘new age’ teachers and inbetween.
The concept is this. At any given moment there are multiple realities that exist simultaneously. Burt Goldman says there is a reality where you might be a pauper and another where you might be a king.
The dramatic version of this for me would be the tv show Sliders. A team travels via wormholes to various parallel realities in an effort to return to their home reality.
In the less dramatic, it can be minor deviations from your current path or memory.
Think of the Mandela Effect – people swearing the childrens books about a bear family was called The Berenstein Bears with an “e” instead of The Berenstain Bears.
I like to think of Bashar’s example, that multiple realities are similar to tv channels – coexisting, but what is experienced is
whichever you give your focus to.
You could be watching FRIENDS, at the same time that E.R. is playing. Your experience is six friends in their 20’s living in New York in the early 90’s.
Someone else might be experiencing George Clooney dealing with hospital emergencies in Chicago…and looking damn good while doing it, too, I might add.
Now this is a simplified example but it does apply to the ‘real world’.
The way I am utilizing this is by creating a journal of my ideal reality…remember our focus aligns us with what we want to experience.
I am using a loose version of Jon and Missy Butcher’s Lifebook format. Essentially, you break down your life experience into whatever number of categories you prefer, they use 12.
It’s good to include a well rounded vision, so not just focusing on money or a relationship but also including health, emotional well being, family, etc…
In my journal I devote one page for each category. The next step is writing out what that category looks like in your ideal life.
For instance, Career might start like this: I pursue my creative interests with joy, helping others while receiving wonderful compensation.
Then I will expand into what a typical day looks like in relation to my career, from the time I wake up until I go to sleep.
The point of this is becoming crystal clear about what you want your experience to be. If you aren’t intentionally making choices then you are most likely living on auto pilot and responding to what your life experience has been.
For instance, your dailly route could be driving north on I-5 to the 120 East exit. Your GPS alerts you to traffic ahead. You have a choice, continue forward to 120 East or take the Louise Exit and avoid the traffic altogether.
There is a reality where you sat in traffic, another where you took the different route or maybe even one where you turned around and headed back home!
This seems like a silly example, who would choose sitting in traffic because that is the norm, rather than making a different and better choice?
But we do it all the time. I myself am guilty of complaining about a situation, yet continuing with it, like my part time job while in college. It didn’t pay enough, it was exhausting and didn’t bring me any joy. Yet, I showed up to every shift.
What is the definition of insanity again?
It wasn’t until I allowed the possibility of a different experience that it finally changed.
And for those who think this is woo woo nonsense, I want to direct you to your RAS – Reticular Activating System. Basically, it’s your subconscious filter. You decide you like a red Lexus RX, so now every day you see them everywhere.
They were always there, you just weren’t paying attention. Now, change the car to a new job.
Think of all the conversations, emails, texts, advertisements, etc…that you might notice now because your RAS is filtering for and bringing your attention to them.
Now, you can choose to believe your reality can change or not but let’s not forget Henry Ford – “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.”
