Do you just jump into a completely different timeline that is unfamiliar, like Sam in Quantum Leap?
Possible, but highly unlikely. With an infinite number of realities, most shifts are subtle. Each reality is a result of YOU making a choice.
Simply put, in one reality you go right but in another you go left. Most of the major points are still there but this slight choice changed certain aspects.
It looks like your previous reality, but something is slightly different, better. Oftentimes, you can’t put your finger on it. Or it just looks like progress.
For me, I feel the differences before seeing them. I awake, feeling like I’m in a dream and usually deviating from my daily routine. It’s a strong pull away from operating on auto pilot and following my emotional bliss.
Lately, I have been called to sit on my back deck before work. I live in Tennessee, so beyond my back yard is a small woody area. It’s beautiful and calming.
Today, it was raining, so no sitting outside…on the back deck, that is. I have a covered FRONT porch with two chairs that are so perfect for enjoying my other view, which is an adorable neighborhood with lots of trees and nature. This is a different experience of habit including the coffee creamer, the borrowed sweater and my listening choice – about shifting timelines. 🙂
- What happens to my family and friends when I shift?
Some people are afraid to shift timelines because they feel like they will lose family or friends. While it is common to ‘lose’ – for lack of a better word – people you don’t put in the effort to stay close to, however, your family and friends that are dear to you remain with you due to your focus and attention.
Your focus and attention acts like an anchor.
However, to help you feel more confident in shifting, you can include them in your visualizations, vision boards, journaling, etc…
In fact, many of my timeline shifts involve desired experiences with my family, like us all gathering together at Mt. Shasta whenever we want because in that timeline I own a property there or can easily accomodate otherwise.

Whoah! Let me stop you there. Remember your focus is an anchor. If you are still acknowledging the remnants of your previous timeline then you can pull yourself back or never shift at all.
Instead of looking for signs that things are the SAME, look for signs that are DIFFERENT.
Recently, I was prescribed blood pressure medicine that made my ankles swell. I gave it some time to normalize, but after a couple weeks with elephant legs, decided I would make an appt. with a dr.
In the meantime I started really focusing on shifting reality to one of better health. I realized a few days later that the swelling was gone. I don’t know when it happened because I stopped fixating on it.
- How do you choose the reality?
Choosing your reality involves embodying the vibrational identity of it. If your preferred reality involves you being wealthier than you are, then you need to assume the identity of the wealthier version.
That doesn’t involve taking a loan out for a Ferrari, just embodying the feeling of being what you associate with that change.
For me, wealth equals opprotunities, freedom, relief and generosity. To align with that version I would encourage myself to feel relaxed and get excited about trips with my family – my treat, of course!
Think of it like a radio. There are 100’s of stations from light jazz to hard rock or country. If you want to hear pop music you need to be on the frequency for that station. You can’t hear FM 105.1 if you’re tuned to AM 100.
